DetailsThe first movement of an in progress tuba mini-suite, 'My Imaginary Friend' is a playful solo for high tuba and piano, conjuring up an image of a young child's imaginary friend. Initially stand-offish and something abnormal, the duo launch off into mischievous buffoonery. The tuba and piano chase each other through the main theme of the work. There is a moment to admire the duo's amicability before a more mature iteration of the main theme, as the creation of the young child's imaginary friend fades away into the past.
