Details'Precious Name' was commissioned by Sunshine Brass in memory of Roger Roache. 'Precious Name' is a musical tribute to Roger's contributions to the Queensland and Australian banding movements.
'Precious Name' was composed by William Howard Doane to the text of Lydia Baxter in 1871. This setting by Jared McCunnie maintains the original's triumphant gallop, with a contemporary twist. This arrangement (suitable for 3rd Section+/C Grade) opens with a solo for Solo Horn (with a cued alternative version for Solo Euphonium). Duration - 3.5-4 min |
